Encounter is a monthly youth worship service that happens on the third Sunday of every month.
The hope for Encounter is that is becomes a space for young people aged 11-18 to come together, Encounter God, Encounter each other, and Encounter faith.
The primary focus of Encounter is to give young people the space they need to meet with God in a way that makes sense to them. Whether it’s for the first time, or the fiftieth, we know that traditional church services might not be what young people are looking for, so we are giving them a way to explore what meeting with God looks like for them. Each Encounter we give space to explore different (and hopefully new) ways of Encountering God and seeing what it is like to live with Him.
Encountering Each Other
Being a Christian can be really lonely, especially if you are a teenager and feel like none of your friends think the same way. We want Encounter to bring together all the local Christians who may not realise how big their family is. Each Encounter gives time for young people to look around the room, meet new people, and have time with peers who believe what they believe.
Living with faith has many different aspects, and whether you’re just starting your faith journey, or have been Christian your whole life, there are aspects of Christianity that you may find confusing, or you may just not even be aware of them. Our hope is have some of these things explored, and give young people to space to find out what faith is really about.
